If you’re like me and never seem to have enough time in the mornings, or perhaps even if you do but the last thing you feel like doing is spending it just on your makeup. Personally, I’d much rather enjoy a quick workout, surf, yoga, stretching or even just relaxing before my hectic day begins. To help give myself maximum ‘me’ time, I have perfected my shortened application technique and so here I would like to share with you my super quick, 10-minute, everyday makeup routine.
Prior to my makeup routine, I always prepare my skin with the following 5 steps: 1. Cleanse, 2. Tone, 3. Serum, 4. Eye Serum and 5. Moisturizer.
This is the secret to having smooth, hydrated, plump skin and to help your makeup sit perfectly throughout the day. Always prep your skin first!
I use an award- winning, professional quality Australian brand that is Fantastic! It is natural, highly pigmented, vegan, cruelty-free and toxin-free. Kylie’s Professional’s Mineral Goddess and Xtreme Runway Ranges are designed and formulated by award winning Australian Makeup artist Kylie Eustace and are the perfect everyday makeup product. I find the products super easy to use, quick to apply and they will last all day. Even staying on through a workout after work!
I’ve broken down my makeup routine into four easy steps below: The perfect base, Peachy glowing cheeks, Defined eyes and Plump lips. Each step outlining what products and colours I use from the range. I have also filmed a YouTube tutorial if you would like to watch me demonstrate my application.
THE PERFECT BASE Foundation Primer: Apply one to two pumps of MG foundation primer and massage all over the face, with fingers. Concealer: Use a small amount of MG concealer under your eyes and on any blemishes or discolouration you might have. Gently using your ring finger. I am wearing shade ‘Soft’ Foundation: Press and blend your MG loose foundation, on all areas of your face. Make sure you apply all around your eyes, nose, blend into your hairline and down your neck. Use Kylie’s dense kabuki brush, #1 or #3 long handle kabuki. I wear share ‘Aphrodite’ in summer and ‘Angel’ in winter. Contour: You want to use a foundation a few shades darker to blend in the areas you would like to recede. I use MG Pressed Foundation in shade ‘Bronze’. Setting Powder: Apply a touch of MG setting powder to your T-Zone using fluffy brush #2. Blend across your forehead and down your nose. I am wearing shade ‘xtra matt Med’
PEACHY GLOWING CHEEKS Blush: Apply a touch of MG Cheek and Lip Cream to the apples of your cheeks, using your ring finger and blend upwards. I am wearing shade ‘peachy’ Highlighter: Use a small amount of MG Eye shadow to the high cheek bones, your brow bone and to the inner corners of your eyes. I am wearing shade ‘dream’
DEFINED EYES Brows: Make sure you always brush your brows. Then using a matt MG Eye shadow lightly fill in your brows. I use brush #13 and gently feather with small strokes behind the hairs following the natural shape of my brows. I am wearing shade ‘stone’ Eye shadow: I wear MG Bronzer ‘Spice’ and blend a nice wash across my eyelids. Blend with brush #18, making sure all the edges are smooth. Eyeliner: Using MG Eye liner in shade ‘Tigers Eye’ draw a thin line along the top lash line. Blend and set with MG eye shadow ‘stone’ and using brush #13 again. Lashes: Using XR Water Resistant Mascara, apply two coats to the top lashes and one to the bottom.
PLUMP LIPS Colour Stain: Again, using the versatile cheek and lip cream, dab with your finger a wash of colour onto your lips. I am wearing shade ‘peachy’ Moisture: Following the lip stain, apply the MG Lip Conditioner over the top to keep your lip moisturized.
